At a parish council meeting in 2025 some residents raised the idea of having CCTV in the village to try to prevent crime. A parish councillor has done some research on this, including speaking to other parishes who already have CCTV, and found that it is not a straightforward process, and is quite costly, with some feedback being that due to cloned plates CCTV does not have a significant impact on crime levels in villages. An alternative less costly option is for individual properties to have camera doorbells.
Due to all of these issues the Parish Council will not be taking this project forward, but if anyone would like to consider putting together a group to fund and monitor a parish CCTV system, the Parish Council would be happy to provide them with all of the information that the Cllr has gathered.
